Itinerary

Day 01: Cochin

Our representative will receive you on your arrival at Cochin International Airport / Railway Station and will take you to the hotel at Cochin.  Ernakulam / Cochin. is the commercial and industrial capital city of Kerala. It is also known as  - the “Queen of Arabian Sea”, this is one of the finest natural harbors in the World.  It was one of the major centers for commerce and trade with the British, Chinese, Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch, etc.

Sightseeing Options in Cochin include Dutch Palace otherwise known as Mattancherry Palace, (Closed on Fridays) locates in Mattancherry is a palace built by the Portuguese and gifted to the Raja of Cochin which depicts Kerala Hindu temple art, Kerala Murals, Portraits, and exhibits of the Cochin Rajas regime. These astonishing murals depict the scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the two epics, and are undoubtedly some of the most beautiful and extensive murals seen anywhere in India.

 Jewish Synagogue  (Closed on Fridays & Saturdays) gets its space in the tourism map with its peculiar feature that it has been rated as the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth nations of 53 countries. The area around the Synagogue is known as Jew Town is one of the main centers of spice trade in India.

 St. Francis Church is a historical edifice built by the Portuguese where the body of the legendary travel explorer Vasco Da Gama was originally buried. It was built in 1503 and is the oldest European church in India. It has great historical significance as it stood solely as a witness to the European colonial struggle in the sub-continent.

 Marine Drive and Chinese Fishing Nets.

This serene picturesque promenade is a popular hangout for the local populace. It is one of the main centers for the most popular shopping malls in the city. The walkway here has two contemporarily constructed bridges. The Rainbow Bridge and the Chinese fishing Net bridge. The gentle breeze coming from the Vembanad Lake, India’s longest lake makes the Marine drive an unforgettable experience for the tourists. One can see the functioning of the Chinese fishing net very closely from here.

Overnight stay at Cochin

 Day 02 : Munnar

After breakfast, we drive to Munnar from Cochin. The journey will take approx 5 hrs (140 km) through the vibrant valley of cardamom hills and tea plantations of the western ghats.  The atmospheric air here is rendered with the fragrance of tea and spices which may give heavenly bliss for a nature lover.

Munnar is a hill station situated at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level in the Western ghats.  Situated in the confluence of three rivers, Mudrapuzha, Nallathani and Kundala, the city is surrounded by reservoirs, forests, sprawling tea estates, and spice plantations.

En-route visit Cheeyapara Waterfalls. Check in to the hotel at Munnar. Evening visit Tea Museum (10.00 Hrs to 16.00 Hrs, closed on Monday) and later for cultural programs at Punarjani.  Overnight stay in Munnar.

 On arrival, Visit to Eravikulam National Park is worthwhile of its natural habitat, Nilgiri Thar. One of the world’s rarest species of mountain goats is fast becoming extinct. Now the total number of Nilgiri Thar in Rajamala is estimated as 1317 only.  The forest surrounding the Munnar is still rich with wildlife. The evergreen forest which surrounds Munnar is a delight for bird watchers also. Enjoy nature at your own pace.
(Eravikulam National Park, Munnar will be closed during February 2024 and March 2024 due to the calving season of Nilgiri Tahr)

After lunch, visit Mattupetty Dam which is nearly 13 km from Munnar town, It is a water storage concrete gravity dam situated at a height of 1700 m. The sprawling Kundala tea plantation and Kundala Lake are other attractions in its vicinity.  After the visit to Mattupetty dam, just a short distance from there is the Mattupetty dairy farm – The Indo Swiss Livestock project. One can see over 100 varieties of high-yielding cattle here.

After Mattupetty, we drive to Echo Point. It is true that from here you can call your lover's name loudly and nature will repeat it.  From here a drive to the Tea Museum (Closed on Monday).

This location features an array of photographs and machinery illustrating the intricate process of tea leaf production, making it a fascinating experience for tea enthusiasts eager to delve into the mechanisms involved. In the evening, enjoy a serene stroll to immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of nature.  Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 03: Thekkady

After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Thekkady (110 km 3 hrs) - one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves.   The Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. Spread over an area of 925 sq Km, it is one of the 2 tiger reserves in India and is a real representative of the western ghats, and has all the elements of tropical biodiversity with high species richness and endemism.

After reaching Thekkady, check in to the hotel.  After fresh-up boating at Periyar Tiger Reserve. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife, and scenic beauty, the Periyar Tiger Reserve attracts visitors from all over the world. The greatest attraction of Periyar is the herds of wild elephants that travel together.

After boating at Periyar reservoir, the day is at leisure for other activities like nature walks, bamboo rafting, tribal art performances, elephant rides, etc.

Overnight stay at hotel in Thekkady

 Day 04: Alleppey /Kumarakom (Houseboat)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey.

Alleppey is one of Kerala’s most mesmerizingly beautiful and graced destinations which lures the soul and mind of any traveler. It is the hub of backwater tourism in Kerala, which is also known as the “Venice of the East”

Check-in to houseboat at 1200 hrs. Enjoy the day and overnight in a houseboat by hearing the lullaby of water drops and the beauty of nature.

Float along and gaze over paddy fields of succulent green, curvaceous rice barges, and village life along the banks, the ride through the houseboat through the narrow canals inside the village is the best option to know the culture and lifestyle of the local people closer. On your houseboat ride, you will get chances to buy toddy which is locally made and sometimes marine products. Both Veg and Nonveg options are available in the Houseboat.

Overnight stay in a houseboat in Alleppey/Kumarakom. 

[Cruise timing: -12:00 Hrs to 13.30Hrs. Then 30 30-minute break for lunch, again cruising from 15.00 hrs till 17:30 Hrs. Thereafter boat will be tugged at a designated area on the bank of the lake.  Cruising after 17:30 Hrs till is not permitted as per the law.  Next day morning cruising from 08:00 Hrs 09: 00 Hrs afterward check-out from the houseboat and drop at Kumarakom/Alleppey Boat Jetty after breakfast].

Day 05: Cochin

In the morning when you wake up, in the dawn, you can see local fishermen moving in small boats/canopy filled their boats with fish. After breakfast by 1000hrs check out from the houseboat and drive to Cochin airport / Railway Station for an onward journey
